Although Bounty Killer may have garnered a name for himself as one of the most controversial Dancehall artists of his generation, his immense musical and deejaying talents truly surpass this. In honour of his 44th birthday, Jet Star has decided to celebrate the life and works of Bounty Killer. Kicking off his career by filling the Dancehalls of Jamaica as a deejay, Rodney Price didn’t always tread the easy road. After being shot at the age of fourteen, it’s no surprise much of his catalogue heralds an ‘unrepentant flair for gun talk’. Jet Star presents: The Producer Series – Courtney Cole

The best artists are always part of a great camp headed by a visionary record producer. This series celebrates that very person, the producer. Courtney Cole is no doubt one of the finest producers from Jamaica. Whilst Dancehall enjoyed its peak during the early 90s, Cole’s record label ‘Roof International’ became home to some of the biggest chart toppers including Cutty Ranks’ ‘Who Say Me Done’ and ‘God Alone’ by Little Hero. However, this was just the start as Cole later went on to work with a plethora of renowned artists including the legendary Garnett Silk.
