Celebrating: Bounty Killer

Although Bounty Killer may have garnered a name for himself as one of the most controversial Dancehall artists of his generation, his immense musical and deejaying talents truly surpass this. In honour of his 44th birthday, Jet Star has decided to celebrate the life and works of Bounty Killer.

Kicking off his career by filling the Dancehalls of Jamaica as a deejay, Rodney Price didn’t always tread the easy road. After being shot at the age of fourteen, it’s no surprise much of his catalogue heralds an ‘unrepentant flair for gun talk’.

With their blazing riddims and scorching melodies, tracks like Ballistic Affair, Badman Graduation and Virtuous Woman are perhaps some of Bounty Killer’s finest. All of which feature on Jet Star’s ‘Sons of Jamaica’ compilation and can be streamed or downloaded here

Despite several feuds with the likes of fellow deejays Beenie Man and Vybz Kartel, it’s undeniable that Bounty Killer is one Dancehall’s most prominent names. With a Grammy award to his name and an outstanding catalogue of music, it’s clear that no amount of trials or tribulations can get in Bounty Killer’s way.
