Sizzla
Bursting onto the scene in the late 90s, the enormously prolific Sizzla helped spearhead Jamaica’s Roots & Culture movement. Along with Buju Banton, he led Reggae back to the musical and spiritual influence of Roots Reggae despite sometimes causing controversy with his strict adherence to Bobo Ashanti views. But, through advocating faith, his compassion for poor black youth and respect for women, Sizzla is most positively celebrated for his rapid-fire chatting and powerfully melodic vocals.
