Welcome to the 'Reggae Legends' Hall of Fame

Like many other ‘Reggae Legends’ before and after him, Miguel Orlando Collins, also known as Sizzla, was born in Kingston, Jamaica, to devout Rastafari movement parents.

Growing up in the fast paced, ever changing August Town, an intense cultural and social landscape ultimately helped shape the sound of style of Sizzla to help him become one of the world’s finest Reggae Dancehall artists.

Sizzla began to develop his own style whilst serving his musical apprenticeship with the Caveman Hi-Fi sound system. It was from there, he established his name in the industry through touring with other emerging artists including Luciano and eventually, through meeting the legendary Philip "Fattis" Burrell, went on to release his debut album, ‘Burning Up’.

Some 23 years since the release of this seminal album, Jet Star is pleased to celebrate the life and legacy of Sizzla Kalonji by inducting him into our ‘Reggae Legends’ Hall of Fame. What’s more, supported by a definitive 50 track compilation of all his greatest hits, Sizzla has the honour of being the first artist to feature in this brand new Jet Star series.
